We are happy to be at the Fiets en Wandelbeurs, the biggest hike & bike fair in Benelux, for the second year. “The True West”

The True West is the story of two brothers who meet after 5 years at the home of a tire mother who has a holiday market in Alaska. Austin, the younger brother is a screenwriter and is working on a script that is very important for his career, while the older brother Lee disturbs the peace. The clash of Justice with extreme possibilities, jealousy, old grudges between the other person will bring a fierce conflict on stage and very interesting.

Helado Infinito

Helado Infinito is a duo composed by Loreta Neira (Chile) and Victor Borgert (Argentina) in march of 2016. The project started in La Plata (ARG) but grew in a backpacker trip around Mexico, place where Helado Infinito recorded in an itinerant and independent way all of their songs that now are part of “Canciones Dispersas”, their first album. After being a whole year in Mexico, Victor and Loreta went to Europe and they played in Berlin, Copenhaguen, Bratislava, Malmö, Liubliana, Paris, Caen, London, Vienna, Zagreb and Budapest. After that, in 2017, Helado Infinito went back to South America and they presented “Canciones Dispersas” in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Now their CD it’s on sale also in Japan, because of the interest of a local label called Latina. 

Helado Infinito mix pop with folk, hip-hop and electronic music in songs that talks about existencialism, love, travels and relationships.

Culture of Humiliation

During 15-19 May, 2019 at Tirana Ekspres, 07:00- 23:30, an activity of the exhibition “CULTURE OF HUMILIATION” from ANTONIJ KARADZOSKI, during the Artivism Awareness Campaign on Bullying and Cyberbullying, based on sexual orientation and gender identity, inspired by the personal story of the artist as gay in a small and conservatory place like Republic of North Macedonia. Antonij faced a lot of bullying, cyber-bullying, discrimination, homophobia at young age and growing up. He escaped his native country to live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and he is focused on making a difference in the world through the method of Artivism and his main focus is the LGBT community in “difficult” countries like the Balkan Region, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Palestine and many more.

The exhibition “Culture of Humiliation” in Tirana is curated by Blerina Berberi, and joins the activities organized during the IDAHOT 2019 week (International Day Against Homophonia and Transphobia) in Albania.

The opening holds a very special event for you: FIRSTWAVE to SOUNDWAVE. The waves will go from Kepi i Rodonit to Drymades Beach. This is a pre-event to the offical Soundwave Festival.

Music meets Arts in May -30th of May

Make yourself ready! Saturday evening is going to be colourful!
Tirana Ekspres invites for “Music meets Arts in May” on Saturday 30th of May 2015 at 19.00.

The program holds “Kanoon” as live act for our sense of hearing, since they just stimulate one of our senses, “U4” and “Arber Doku” going to do something for the eyes! Paintings, drawings, installation and video-art, will enrich our evening.

U4” is a artist collective from Kosovo, consisting of four members. Their work, called “First it was speechless, then said NO!”, presented in Tirana Ekspres will show video installations, paintings
and photographs. “At certain parts of life we find ourselves going round circular shapes that we named “routine”. Not because they are inaccessible but we fool ourselves with the comfort that that condition creates.” -U4

The young, but very talented painter and drawer “Arber Doku” presents his works, collected of a long time, called “Kalate e Shqiperise ne punim rabiti”. Mainly shown parts of the Albanian history, old cities, but also colourful paintings of the world that surrounds the artist.

Albanian Ethnic Jazz Concert

JAZZIn honor of the traditional music and the music of no boundaries, such as jazz music is!

 

Dear Friends,
a wondeful Jazz night is waiting for us! The Jazz Duo, consisting of Sokol Sejdo and Erjon Medha, is going to enlight our Friday evening the 15th of May. The group invites to the Black Box, University of Arts Tirana, where they will start their concert at 7:30pm.
With rythms, powerful and harmonic at the same time, out of the Albanian ethnic music-history, performed on saxophone and guitar, presented by Adela Mansaku Kokonozi and Ilir Kazaferi. These very professional musicians, know their instruments and genre, a duo that
should not be missed!

Friday the 8th of May is going to be a really nice one! We welcome great Adam Evald and his chamber ensemble from Sweden at Tirana Ekspres. The concert starts at 8pm and will take place in our garden. The support act AstroMike Gordon will open the show.
Adam Evald is passing by Tirana on his second world tour that he is traveling on, and it is pleasure for us to be the host in Albania.

we are proud to announce the photo-exhibition “Corner Space” by Masha Bender at Tirana Ekspres. For the first time exhibiting in Albania, Masha will present her works from 9th till 16th of May 2015. About the artist:
“Masha Bender is a young visual artist from St. Petersburg. She works on the edge of graphics, photography and video.
In her works Masha Bender is researching the end of the world from the point of view of the air.
Masha Bender is currently based in Berlin while exhibiting all over the world. Graduated The Academy of Arts in Berlin.
She claims that living in the era of postmodern having a sublime temper is quite hard; in spite of that she continuously struggles on achieving the most beauty possible.”
